About

Zachary Land is a trombonist and singer-songwriter from Kalamazoo Michigan. His father an amateur trombonist, Zac grew up playing the instrument from the age of 6.  Later he taught himself guitar and electric bass and in 2008 he attended the Oberlin Conservatory of Music, where he studied jazz improvisation with legendary trombonist Robin Eubanks. Since graduating from Oberlin Zac has relocated to Detroit, where he performs and records regularly with some of Detroit's premier musicians and producers.

Land’s latest original project is the Zac Land Band. This newly formed group came together in early 2018 around a collection of original songs, which have been brought to life in the band's first studio recording, Coming Soon EP. The band is Zac Land (acoustic guitar and vocals), Greg Ayers (electric guitar), Emily Rogers (bass), and Nathan Friedman (drums). The driving feel of their music has roots in rock and country, while Land’s voice and acoustic guitar style lend a distinct folk element. The Zac Land band can be seen performing around Detroit and followed at facebook.com/zaclandband.
